Not sure about DMX USB itself, but EMU can receive Midi notes from a Midi controller. Then EMU will change programs and that lets you control lights. So it looks like Midi controller > EMU > DMX USB PRO > your fixtures.
I am using the midi control from my DAW (Studio One) and it works fine. You need to use a software midi driver, in my case I use the AkaiPro Internal MIDI, then define that as an external device in the DAW and setup the EMU midi to receive from that one, using one midi channel to control the bank and another channel to control the program. It only works in the paid version of EMU. Then if you add two tracks in the DAW and send to the device you defined for the AkaiPro, each midi note will represent each bank/program in the same order they are shown in EMU. My only problem is, what if I want to use some fixtures independantly of the others, like for instance to controle a fog mashine independantly of the lights, I have no idea how to do that.
Well I found out there are two ways to control via midi: bank/program change which is the simplest and probably easiest, but there is also the VST3 plugin and best of all, both methods can be used at the same time. As soon as one or more fixtures are mapped to VST, the VST plugin takes over. This is perfect if I want some fixtures to simply follow my show by simple programs changes, but also got some other fixtures that should not follow that show but be controlled on a seperate track (eg a fog mashine). When you open the VST plugin in the DAW, you got 512 assignable faders so you can control quite a lot of fixtures and even divide it on multiple dedicated tracks to have a better overview of what is going on.

I'm still in "discovery" mode using ENTTEC's DMX USB Pro with EMU and making slow/stead progress. There seems to be a lot of folks syncing EMU with their DAW for DJ and bands on a click track...but what I'd really like to do is to use a midi controller like the Tech 21 Midi Mongoose in a live situation to send PC MIDI messages to control lights from the stage and have those converted to . Regrettably, unless I'm missing something the DMX USB will not accept Midi. I propose instead to use a product like the DOREMiDi MIDI To DMX Box between the Midi controller and the DMX USB Pro. Is anyone doing something like this?
